Christopher Pollock
Christopher Pollock has authored two publications about Golden
Gate Park, one a history and the other a visual tour. His
first was San Francisco's Golden Gate Park: A Thousand
and Seventeen Acres of Stories (2001) followed by Golden
Gate Park: San Francisco's Oasis in Vintage Postcards
(2003). As an authority on the Victorian park's history he
has spoken before numerous local historical groups about the
park. He has also made radio and television appearances.
Christopher is a designer specializing in interior architecture
and product design. He has created several award-winning projects
that have appeared in such publications as Sunset magazine,
the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper, and Metropolitan
Home magazine as well as several professional publications
and books. As a past guest lecturer at the California College
of Arts and Crafts and instructor at the UC Berkeley Extension,
he has taught on interior architecture topics. Christopher
is an active member of San Francisco Heritage, the San Francisco
Museum and Historical Society as well as the Bay Area Postcard
Club. He frequently gives talks and walks in Golden Gate Park.
